Swindon Town, Salford City &Walsall chasing deal for 23-y/o

Salford City, Swindon Town and Walsall are all chasing a deal to sign Alex Babos following his really impressive start to life with Banbury United, reports Football League World.

Babos has previously been on the books at Championship side Derby County, but he never made an appearance with the Rams, despite captaining the U21s. The attacking midfielder had loans with FC United and in Spain with Real Union prior to his release. He’s subsequently ended up with Banbury at non-league level.

Football League World are reporting that the 23-year-old’s impressive form in 2021 is now catching the eye of several EFL sides. It’s believed League Two trio, Salford, Walsall, and Swindon are all chasing the former Wales youth international’s signature heading into the January transfer window.

Swindon currently sit seventh in the League Two table, whilst Salford and Walsall have struggled through the opening third of the season and sit in mid-table.

Since leaving Derby, Babos has spent time in Spain playing for Real Union, before heading back to England and playing for non-league sides such as Alfreton, Kings Lynn, and Banbury. The 23-year-old is an attack-minded midfielder who likes to get between the lines and create opportunities for his attacking teammates, whilst also having an eye for the goal.
