Club ‘ready to strike deal’ if Bolton Wanderers want to extend youngster’s loan deal beyond January

German side HSV Hamburg are willing to allow Xavier Amaechi’s loan at Bolton Wanderers to be extended if the League One side want to, reports BILD.

Amaechi joined Bolton on loan in the summer transfer window, with the German side electing to send him back to England to get regular first-team football. He’s managed eight appearances for them in all competitions so far but is yet to really impress, with just one goal to his name.

The youngsters season has been hugely interrupted, after he fractured his metatarsal right at the start of the campaign. The injury was costly as it ruled him out of Bolton’s opening 16 league games of the season.

The 20-year-old has only just returned to the first-team last month and has been slowly building up his fitness in the last few games. Ameachi has only managed to be in the starting eleven once this season.

Therefore, it means the loan spell which is due to end in January hasn’t been the greatest of success for either the player himself or his parent club. Due to this it’s now being reported by BILD that the German side are ‘willing’ for Amaechi to stay at the University of Bolton Stadium for the rest of the season if the League One side would like him to.

Hamburg believe that Amaechi is slowly ‘gaining momentum’ and think it may be best he stays in the North-West for the remainder of the season. The question is whether Bolton want this to happen or not, but of they do like the sound of the idea then there seems to be no issue from the German counterparts.
