Swansea City looking to strike deal for Premier League player

Swansea City are keen to sign midfielder Domingos Quina from Premier League side Watford, this is according to Football Insider.

Quina has been on loan at Sky Bet Championship side Fulham this season. However, the 22-year-old has endured a frustrating time at Craven Cottage and Watford are ready to recall him and agree a new loan move.

Now a recruitment source has told Football Insider that the Swans have approached Watford over a deal for the former West Ham United man.

The Championship club are hopeful of securing an agreement before Monday’s cut-off.

Just before moving to Craven Cottage in the summer, Quina signed a new deal at Watford that will keep him at the club until 2024. He has managed just four appearances for Fulham this term and has not made a Championship matchday squad since the beginning of October.

Swansea are on the lookout for attacking reinforcements this month as they look short up top and attacker Jamie Paterson is being constantly linked with a move away.

Paterson has missed the Swans’ last three games and is training with the club’s Under-23s amid a dispute over his contract.

His absent was keenly felt on Tuesday (25 January) when Russell Martin’s side played out a 0-0 draw with Queens Park Rangers.

Quina could bring that mucb creativity that is needed in Martin’s side, the 22-year-old played 16 times last season in helping the Hornets gain promotion back to the Premier League.
