Huddersfield Town are showing the ‘strongest interest’ in Ipswich Town striker Tyreece Simpson, a report from the East Anglian Daily Times reports.

However, despite the Terriers’ interest there remains other EFL sides interested in the striker. Simpson’s future has been up in the air for much of 2022.

He was recalled by the Tractor Boys back in January following a strong first half of the 2021/22 campaign with Swindon Town but since then, the relevant parties have been unable to reach an agreement over a new contract.

Now the striker is into the final 12 months of his current contract and the situation he still finds himself in has caught the attention of several Football League sides.

Now this latest update is suggesting that Huddersfield are leading the chase for Simpson at this current time. The report adds that the Ipswich’s academy graduate still has plenty of other suitors though and the League One side aren’t opposed to using him in a part-exchange deal.

Ipswich triggered a 12-month option in Simpson’s contract back in May and are now hoping to receive a decent fee for the striker this summer.
